Client Event Myth #2

by Jennifer on September 3, 2009

Myth #2 – My clients do not use the internet!

Truth #2 – The internet will continue to increase in usage by people who are age 50 and older. In an article published earlier this year in the Sidney Morning Herald entitled “Senior citizens ‘flocking to the Web’” the author quotes “While just over one-fourth, or 26 percent, of 70-75 year olds went online in the United States in 2005, the proportion was 45 percent last year, according to data from the Pew Internet & American Life Project, she said.” WOW, that in nearly 50% of Americans who are age 70-75 are using the internet. This tells me that if you are not integrating some form of electronic communication with your clients, you may be missing opportunities to connect.

When planning your next event, think about approaching your clients with multiple forms of invitations. We always advocate printed invitations. However, a very inexpensive alternative can be to design a professional looking HTML invitation for your client appreciation event. This serves multiple purposes… 1) it is one more opportunity for them to get and respond to the invitation and 2) If your goal is to increase your client base and have them invite a friend, emails are very easy to forward to friends. Additionally, if more people are using the web, then it serves as a great medium to allow people to learn more about the exciting and unique event you are holding. Designing a simple, yet professional site just to tell your clients more about your event is inexpensive and very effective. We can even help you get quick approval by working directly with your compliance department if you like.

Our professionals can help you deliver professionally designed email invitations and design a quick website to tell your clients why they want to be at your event to compliment your printed or personal invitations. Please feel free to give us a call at (619) 618-0244 for a fee consultation and to discuss ideas to help make your next client appreciation event a huge success.
